Celebration Day

The day Ross arrived in Belgium (the Sunday after we did) we planned to have a "celebration day" where we celebrated all the events in the near future and not-so-distant-past that we wouldn't be together to celebrate:

Ross' Birthday
Mother's Day
Father's Day
Dad's Birthday
Frazier's Birthday
Josh's Birthday
My Birthday

So I guess that makes us all celebrated up March through November!
Happy Everything!

Happy Day-After-Father's-Day!

Once again, I'm a day late posting something, but better late than never, right?

Yesterday, obviously, was Father's Day and while we didn't actually get to see any of the other dads in our lives we appreciated them all the same from afar! Here's to our Dads and grandfathers (click here to see a slideshow about my awesome Dad)- we love you guys so much!!

What we did get to do was spend the day celebrating this fabulous Dad:With Belgian waffles for breakfast. :)
I've bragged on him before, but I'll do it again. He's really more than I could hope for in a husband and father...I don't know what I'd do without him! Frazier's one lucky kid- that's all I'm sayin'.
Happy Day-After-Father's Day!

Days 5 and 6

Because Mom had our itinerary all worked out so that we would have almost every other day as a day of "rest" in and around Hasselt we spent Day 5 seeing Hasselt some more so here are some pictures of Hasselt and Mom and Dad's...

That night we had dinner at this chateau where there was a little restaurant on the grounds. We walked through cherry and pear orchards- the scenery was beautiful!

Saturday, we walked downtown to the weekend flea market in Hasselt...
...then spent the afternoon in Maastricht:
This is an old cathedral that has been turned into a hotel. It was really neat.

Mommy Brain

Today I found a carton of raspberry sherbet in the refrigerator. The REFRIGERATOR. Which I obviously put there because I'm pretty much the only one who eats raspberry sherbet, and probably the only one here who knew we had any.

Also Frazier was eleven months old yesterday and I failed to mention it here.
So Happy Eleven Months, Fraz! Mommy didn't forget. :)

Days 2-4

The Tuesday we arrived and the next day we spent in Hasselt (which i
s a very nice place) resting and seeing what there was to see there. We shopped, went out for drinks and dinner a few places nearby and walked to the market downtown and the grocery store which are always favorites on my list.
Then, Thursday was our first day trip...to Antwerp!
Still working on posting more...

From The Beginning...

I thought I'd post just a few pictures to highlight our trip and I'll post a link to a more comprehensive album later.

So- here is day one!

We left home about 7:30 am and our flight left right on time about 11 am. It lasted an hour-an hour and a half.
We then had a four hour layover in Atlanta followed by our long flight which was just over eight hours. When we got to Brussels it was Tuesday morning. Even then we still had almost an hours drive to Hasselt.
We had bulkhead seats on the Brussels flight and got a bassinet for Frazier, which we were actually able to use. Here's a picture of him in it:
He slept about four hours total (which was almost half the flight so that was nice). I think they showed two movies, two tv shows and served dinner and breakfast.

And here's pictures of the welkoming committee!

There And Back Again

Well, we made it home...all three of us and all but one bag. My bag. That was practically bursting at the seams with stuff. Stuff I'd like. Hopefully it will show up here today.

As wonderful as our trip over was, our trip home was almost better. The flight from Brussels was near perfect, customs and passport check wasn't too bad, but then our last flight was delayed and finally landed in Shreveport sans my bag. That meant that while all the other people from our flight (whose luggage arrived with them) went home, we sat in the "you lost my luggage line" for an hour.

Our travel day ended almost exactly 24 hours after it began. So, we're regrouping and recouping today.

We had a really amazing trip- I'm very sad it's over. Details and pictures to follow!

Update: my bag arrived at my doorstep a little before one yesterday...thank you, Delta!
