Whatcha Got Cookin'?

A play kitchen was high on my list of toys I felt we...er...Frazier needed, so for his birthday I picked out this adorable vintage blue one by KidKraft and, just as I suspected it would be, it's been one of his favorite gifts! He loves cooking in the big kitchen, after all, so now that he has his own he's been cooking and serving up a storm.
We put it together while he was napping last weekend and when he saw it for the first time he said, "Kitchen?" and then kept saying "Mine?" like he couldn't believe it was actually his!
This was a winner. Fireboots, firetruck, chef hat. Just in case there's a kitchen fire. :)
He likes putting on his apron and hat, but one day he also added the goggles from his tool set, too. Safety first!
Bon Appetit!

Love, Love Me Deux

A blogpost in honor of Frazier turning 2.
I find that the blogworld is choc-a-bloc with Moms who think their kid is amazing and want to post about it...usually in letter form. Not that there's anything wrong with that. After all, mine is and I do. (And sometimes- ahem, Kate- I look forward to other people's letters to their kids.) But honestly, I'd just be so redundant...and mushy...and I'd hope that if Frazier went back and read it someday he'd roll his eyes and say, "You didn't have to type all that, Mom. I already knew." Because no kid could be more treasured than this one, and I'm privileged to get to prove that to him every minute of every single day.
I will say that I love having a toddler.I love the revelation of this new charming little personality.
And I love, love, love that he's talking...

...and that he laughs and laughs and laughs. He's such a thoughtful kid.
I spend so much of my day just sitting and watching with wonder...amazed at this beautiful little person.
And at how much I love him.
Dear Frazier,

Every day with you is better than the last,
and on each of our yesterdays I've thought to myself,
"It can't get any better than this."

As ever,
Mom

You Say It's Your Birthday?!

I can't think of a better reason to celebrate than the anniversary of the day we met Frazier, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate it than a whole afternoon with some of our favorite people. Except maybe an afternoon with ALL our favorite people...but even so, it was an absolutely perfect day. As a matter of fact it was one of those days that was so wonderful we just kept marveling over it until...well, we still are!
These cookie favors were made by my talented friend Jaime.
Cake from The Butcher Shop- one of my favorite things about birthdays.
Opening presents!
Chef's hat from Uncle Ross:This chair from G and Grampa was a big hit...Smurftastic- T from the "Belgians":
Checkin' out the new timepiece:
Fireman Fraz:
Then it was out to the deck to try out a couple of new things:
I'll go ahead and admit that we'd using a large glass candle stick (which had to be taken back in and returned to it's home on my entertainment center every time we used it) as a tee with an over-sized plastic golfball and a garage sale bat. We're resourceful over here. However, the Gleasons graciously gifted us a REAL tee, a much better bat, and a whole bag of balls! Then gave some free coaching to boot!It wasn't long before Frazier decided to see how many of his new gifts he could use at once so he set up the new folding chair right next to the tee and proceeded to bat...sitting down! Like I said...resourceful. :)
Cupcake #3...
Pretty sure he had more cake on Saturday than he's had his whole life.
Giving his little friends a ride in the new dump truck...
Putting money in the new piggy bank with Pop:
New buddies- Elmo and Gumby:
Even after 3 cupcakes...a party this rockin' makes a kid pretty tired...
I had two videos I wanted to post, but as per usual they aren't uploading. I'll be working on that.

So there it is...the party post. I'm sort of sad it's over (the party, not the post). What a happy, happy day!
